Aim
To develop a toolkit for an effective citizens forum related to waste and water management that capacitates preparedness of communities to prevent vector-borne outbreaks (starting with Dengue) for better mitigation of disease.
Key Outcomes
Toolkit for establishing a citizens’ forum that offers coordination (builds and sustains partnerships with civic authorities), community engagement, communication and education tools to address issues related to disease, water and waste in a decentralized manner at the ward level.
Testing of the toolkit in the target ward
Development of an implementation model, monitoring and evaluation plan for the toolkit as a continuous and co-created process with citizens, employing targets that inform. hospitalisations due to dengue, community-led initiatives, reduce dengue case incidence, citizen perceptions, who it works for and who it doesn’t and, partnerships with civic authorities BBMP, BWSSB, revenue authorities
Facilitate a forum for community engagement and participation in public health discussions and actions in Ward 50, which also serves as a central hub for coordinating public interactions from different parts of the project.
