Aim
To design transformative methodologies for ecosystem stewardship of avian fauna in rural landscapes through quantifying, building, and embracing social and natural capital supporting these ecosystems at a decentralised level.
Key Outcomes
Elucidate the ecosystem services, their dynamics and the magnitude and dynamics of their values.
Identify ecological, social and economic indicators that are essential for quantifying the diverse forms of ecosystem services
Defined criteria for mapping birds-associated biocultural diversity in rural livelihoods within the existing regulatory framework in India .
Design a Avian Stewardship Toolkit as a communication tool for the community to develop and implement a participatory ecosystem stewardship strategy in rural livelihoods.
Build community stewardship opportunities (Communities of Practice) throughout the project and develop resources for the community’s use as part of the research outputs.
